Kids' Class: The Story of Nuh (AS)
Kids' Class: Wudu
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The Islamic education class for kids (4-10 years) began with greeting the kids with Assalamoalaikum and the kids greeted back with Walaikumusalam.
Quran Time
They revised Surah Fatiha, Surah Naas and Surah Falq by repeating after the audio recitation.
Duas Time
The students were introduced to the duas for going to bed and waking up in the morning. The students repeated the duas after the teacher and were given a dua card to post on their beds as a reminder for them to recite the duas every day.
Lesson Time
Next the children were introduced to Salah as a means of talking to Allah as everyone likes talking to people close to them and Allah is closest and most special to us. They were told about the five daily prayers and their names and times. The main lesson of the day was about Wudu. The students were told about the importance of Wudu as a means to clean themselves before prayer. All the steps of wudu were described and demonstrated to the students. Then every student demonstrated the steps of wudu with some help from the teacher.
To appreciate their effort, they all received a copy of My Wudu Book by Darusalam Publishers.
Arabic time
The students learned the Arabic numbers from 0 to 10.

Toddlers' Class: Masjid
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The Islamic education class for toddlers (1-4 years) began with greeting the kids with Assalamoalaikum and the kids greeted back with Walaikumusalam or their own version of the greeting.
Quran Time
The toddlers revised Surah Fatiha, Surah Naas and Surah Ikhlas by reciting themselves or, in the case of younger ones, listening to their mothers repeating after the audio recitation.
Arabic Time
The kids revised the first 3 Arabic letters (Alif, Baa, Taa) and were introduced to the fourth letter Thaa. Then they danced to their favorite Arabic Letters Song, “again” and “again”.
Next they revised the Arabic numbers from 1 to 5 and listened to the number song in Arabic.
Lesson Time
The main lesson of the day was about Masjid, the house of Allah. The children were shown pictures of the most important Masjids in Islam and were told about the etiquette of entering a Masjid and what to do there. This lesson was further reinforced with the Upsy Daisy song by Yusuf Islam and friends. The mothers had been given copies of the lyrics to sing along with the kids.
Duas Time
The toddlers were reminded of saying Bismillah before eating and drinking and saying Alhamdulillah when finished. They when introduced to the Islamic etiquette of drinking water and were given a handout with colorful illustrations of a child drinking water sitting down, with his right hand, saying Bismillah and drinking in three sips. Everyone was given a cup of water to practice with in class.
Worksheets
The children were given a coloring worksheet for letter Tha and a connect the dots Arabic numbers worksheet.
The class concluded with some delicious snacks which everyone enjoyed very much

Kids' Class: The Story of Ismail AS
The Islamic education class for kids (4-10 years) began with greeting the kids with Assalamoalaikum and the kids greeted back with Walaikumusalam.
Quran Time:
They revised Surah Fatiha, Surah Naas, Surah Falq and Surah Ikhlas by repeating after the audio recitation.
Duas Time:
Next each student was asked to recite the duas, that they had already learnt, to say before going to bed and after waking up.
They were introduced to the Islamic etiquettes of drinking water and were given a handout to post by the water dispenser in their homes so they can remember the etiquettes when drinking water.
Story Time:
The main lesson was a continuation of last week’s lesson about the story of Ibrahim AS. The students listened to the Nasheed ‘Story of Ibrahim’ by Dawud Wharnsby to remind them of the last lesson. Then Ismail’s AS story was introduced and his mother’s search for water and the Zamzam spring were described. The children were told about how Ibrahim AS and Ismail AS constructed the Kaaba and about the Black Stone that angel Jibrail brought from heaven to place on the Kaaba.
Many of the students had been to Mecca and were familiar with the Kaaba, Zamzam Spring and the hills of Safa and Marwa. These landmarks were presented to them in the form a model, which also included the other sacred sites that Muslims visit when performing the Hajj i.e. Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifa.
Using a small toy bus, the journey of Hajj was explained and then each student traced the journey by him/herself using the toy bus and markings on the model.
Arabic Time:
In the Arabic Language learning section of the lesson, the students revised the Arabic numbers from 1 to 20 and learned the tens till one hundred. The were given a handout with all the numbers and a worksheet in which they were asked to count some items and write their number in Arabic.
And lastly they learned the colors in Arabic and gave examples of things that were those color e.g. Red Apple.
The lesson concluded with a beautiful and healthy snack of fruit
